This week Pastor Jones preached from 2 Kings 5:13, entitling his sermon “One Act Away from a Blessing”. Pastor told us that only one opinion matters: God’s. We have to submit to that opinion even if it’s not logical or comfortable. God sometimes gives you a problem in the midst of where you are so He can get you where He wants. He uses these problems to show you deeper problems within yourself. Pastor also told us to focus on our calling, not our condition because we are where God wants us. Pastor also pointed out that God’s greatest gifts are free, and we shouldn’t be tricked into giving to God just to get. Many Christians criticize the person looking for help when they just don’t have a connection to God themselves. Don’t let your preconceived expectation block your blessing. Many people would do great things rather than simple things for God. Pastor stated that if you want your blessing you have to learn to get off your horse and humble yourself to God. The moment you step down, you are in the will of God. God may not change your place, but He changes your heart and perspective.
